Harlem Dance Club – “transition to zone one”
Location: Manhattan, NYC
Audition / Call Type: Dancers
Harlem Dance Club is seeking 4 – 6 principal dancers for their new production “transition to zone one,” an immersive performance installation directed and choreographed by award-winning filmmaker John Clayton Doyle.
The performances will take place December 7 & 8 in Harlem, with rehearsals beginning mid October, however we are looking to hold auditions and finalize casting by early September.
After the premier of the pieces in December, the group will continue to perform at various venues around NYC in 2025 such as dance festivals and nightclubs. Professional documentation will be provided for your personal portfolio.
Given this is unpaid, we are looking for unique individuals eager to perform in non-tradional venues, be part of a larger community and share their passion for dance performance with NYC. Perhaps you are a dancer building your resume. Perhaps you are a student, parent, have a full time job, and looking for an outlet to continue your creative journey.
All ages (prefer 21 and over)
All genders
All training backgrounds
All body types
Timeline
August – The director will conduct a brief interview virtually
September – cast finalized / two in person workshops
