SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Based on the beloved and timeless holiday classic, this musical has become one of the most requested musicals of our time. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight families of all ages. Spend your holiday with the EOT family and enjoy some surprises to get you in the mood!
AUDITION ROLES:
BOB WALLACE:
(Leading Role, Male-presenting, 35-40) A former army captain and half of the song-and-dance duo Wallace and Davis, Bob is a world-wise, cynical yet charming individual with a strong sense of loyalty and duty. He falls for Betty, the elder of the Haynes sisters.
Vocal range: G3-A5
BETTY HAYNES:
(Leading Role, Female-presenting, 30-35) Betty is the older Haynes sister. She’s independent, pragmatic, and protective of her younger sister Judy. Despite her skepticism, she finds herself falling for Bob.
Vocal range: A3-C6
GENERAL HENRY WAVERLY:
(Supporting Role, Male-presenting, 50-60) The General is a stern, authoritative figure with a gruff exterior but a kind and caring heart. He’s the owner of the failing Vermont Inn and was the commanding officer of Bob and Phil during World War II.
Vocal range: G3-A5
MARTHA WATSON:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 45-50) Martha is the General’s lovable and nosy housekeeper. She’s a Broadway performer in retirement and still has a flair for the dramatic. She has a heart of gold and only wants what’s best for the General.
Vocal range: C4-C6
SUSAN WAVERLY:
(Supporting Role, Female-presenting, 9-12) Susan is the General’s curious and intelligent granddaughter with dreams of becoming a performer. She’s wise beyond her years but still has a childlike innocence about her.
Vocal range: G3-A5
RALPH SHELDRAKE:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-40) Army buddy of Bob and Phil’s, now a major television executive with the Ed Sullivan Show. Fast-talking, New York professional. Doubles in the Ensemble.
Vocal range: Baritone
RITA AND RHODA:
(Featured Roles, Female-presenting, 20-30) Bob and Phil’s two star chorus girls. They are brash, sexy, and fun, although perhaps not the smartest. Doubles in the Ensemble.

EZEKIAL FOSTER:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 50-70) The ultimate taciturn New Englander, who helps out at the Inn and takes life at a very slow pace. Doubles in the Ensemble.
Vocal range: Any
MIKE:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 20-50) Bob and Phil’s stage manager. Has a tendency to be over-dramatic and completely hysterical, but will get things done. Never seen without his whistle and clipboard, which he uses to attempt to keep order. Doubles in the Ensemble.
Vocal range: Any
TESSIE:
(Featured Role, Female-presenting, 20-50) Bob and Phil’s extremely competent assistant. Doubles in the Ensemble.
Vocal range: Any
JIMMY:
(Featured Role, Male-presenting, 30-50) The proprietor of “Jimmy’s Back Room,” a none-too-classy nightclub. Doubles in the Ensemble.
Vocal range: Any
ENSEMBLE:
The Ensemble will consist of a mix of strong singers and dancers (all ages), who will play a variety of smaller roles in scenes, as well as performing in larger production numbers. Dancers are needed as well as those who can hold tight jazz vocal harmonies. Some ensemble members will need to tap.
