Announcing auditions for the Not So Common Players production of
The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)

In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form.
Audition Date and Location:
Auditions will be on Tuesday, August 6th, and Wednesday, August 7th.
Clifton Park Senior Center, 6 Clifton Common Blvd, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can’t pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue?
The variations are: a Rodgers & Hammerstein version, set in Kansas in August, complete with a dream ballet; a Sondheim version, featuring the landlord as a tortured artistic genius who slashes the throats of his tenants in revenge for not appreciating his work; a Jerry Herman version, as a splashy star vehicle; an Andrew Lloyd Webber version, a rock musical with themes borrowed from Puccini; and a Kander & Ebb version, set in a speakeasy in Chicago.
Auditions will be on Tuesday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 7th at the Clifton Park Senior Center, 6 Clifton Common Blvd, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
All roles are open to individuals of any ethnicity or gender identity.
Please prepare 16-32 bars of a showtune. Please bring sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. We ask that you also please bring a headshot and resume, as well.
The deadline for audition signup is Friday, August 2nd.
Rehearsals will be Mondays-Thursdays at the Senior Center from 6:30 PM-9:30 PM, beginning August 19th. You will not be required to attend all rehearsals.
Performances will be October 18th-20th and 24th-27th at the Edison Club in Rexford.
