A new project will be filming in Nashville this fall.
Background extras casting directors with JA Casting (Jenny Alison) announced the project as a brand new Amazon series.
This new Amazon series will be filming in Nashville this fall and they will be hiring lots of background extras. Filming is set to begin at the end of October and run through early March. While, the casting notice did not specifically state the name of the Amazon project, there is a good chance it is “Kay Scarpetta” or “Scarpetta.” Yes, there have been some confliction reports on the title of the upcoming Amazon Prime series.
Kay Scarpetta will be an Amazon Prime Video series created by Liz Sarnoff, adapted from the popular book series by Patricia Cornwell. The show is produced by Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis, both of whom also star in the series.

The story follows Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a brilliant and trailblazing forensic pathologist, as she uses her expertise to solve complex criminal cases. Patricia Cornwell’s novels, which have garnered a huge fanbase, are known for their meticulous detail in forensic science. Nevertheless, Kidman and Curtis, both acclaimed actresses, bring star power to the project.

About the roles:
The casting team is currently seeking photos of talent interested in participating as extras in the series, including roles for police officers, medical examiners, and press, as well as cars from the 1980s and 1990s.
I’m so excited to share that I’ll be handling the Background Casting for a new Amazon series. We will be shooting right here in Nashville, beginning at the end of October through early March!
I’m looking to gather photos of talent interested in being part of this series. We will have a lot of cops, press, medical examiner types, etc. We will also be looking for cars!
Specific needs include:
- Cops: Men and women aged 32-50.
- Medical Examiner Types: Men and women aged 30-65.
- Press Types: Men and women aged 25-55, for both 1970s and late 1990s time periods.
- Cars: Vehicles from the 80s/90s (year 2000 or earlier).
- More roles will be available, and the casting team is gathering a pool of talent to present to the director.
