New Netflix western now casting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The Netflix series is gearing up for production and will be needing locals of all ages to work as paid TV show extras on set this spring through fall. The series and the casting directors have now announced an in-person Casting Call in Calgary, Alberta which will be held at Double Tree by Hilton Calgary North.
Netflix wild west western, The Abandons, which according to the limited show description is about wealthy individuals who try to drive out multiple families on the frontier in an attempt to steal their land, by any means possible in the mid 1800’s.
Netflix’s “The Abandons” stars Gillian Anderson and Lena Heady. Online reports also state that Nick Robinson and Lamar Johnson have also joined the cast which is described as an ensemble.
According to the IMDB page for the production, the short description is as follows:
When a corrupt force of wealth and power covets the lands of a group of diverse and atypical families and tries to drive them out, they must pursue their Manifest Destiny.

The cast include Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, portraying two strong-willed matriarchs, Fiona Nolan and Constance Van Ness, respectively. Fiona Nolan is characterized by her determination to safeguard her family, while Constance Van Ness is driven by ambition to expand her mining fortune and assert dominance over the frontier. T
he newly announced actors include Lucas Till as Garret Van Ness, Aisling Franciosi as Trisha Van Ness, Diana Silvers as Dahlia Teller, and Nick Robinson as Elias Teller. Additionally, Lamar Johnson will portray Albert Mason, and Natalia del Riego will take on the role of Lilla Belle.
