Online auditions for Netflix’s “Is It Cake”
Can you make a cake good enough to fool the judges into thinking its not actually a cake? The show asks the very odd question of is this a bowling ball, or is it cake. That’s right, the cakes created on the show are not supposed to look like cakes.
Created by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, this mind-bending baking competition combines the excitement of a game show with the artistry of cake making. Premiering on Netflix on March 18, 2022, contestants strive to deceive celebrity judges by creating cakes that mimic common objects.
Hosted by Mikey Day, “Is It Cake?” presents a baking contest where talented cake artists craft astonishing replicas of everyday objects like handbags and sewing machines. With higher stakes and even wilder bakes, hungry competitors vie for a substantial cash prize in the upcoming season.

Each episode’s winner earns $5,000 and a shot at additional cash by correctly identifying real money from cake replicas. Inspired by the viral internet meme of the same name, “Is It Cake?” challenges participants and viewers alike to distinguish between cake and reality.
Food Network Casting Kids for Kids Baking Championship
In every episode, contestants and celebrity judges are confronted with multiple instances of a particular object, with one of them being a cake designed to replicate the appearance of the object.
Three contestants compete by crafting a cake within an eight-hour time frame, aiming to make it indistinguishable from the chosen object for that episode. Following the baking process, celebrity judges are presented with three groups of objects, each containing five identical items. Among these sets, one item is actually a cake created by one of the contestants. If the judges successfully identify the cake among the objects, the corresponding contestant is eliminated from the episode.
