AUDITION – OPEN CASTING CALL:
Saturday, October 12th and Wednesday, October 16th
The Waldo Theatre has announced audition dates for its holiday community theatre production of Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!), a comedic, fast-paced mashup of traditional holiday stories, classic tv productions, holiday films, and worldwide traditions, to be staged at The Waldo on December 13, 14, & 15th.
Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!) will be directed by Laura Morris and produced by George Bates.
Instead of performing Charles Dickens; beloved holiday classic for the umpteenth time, three actors decide to perform every Christmas story ever told — plus Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture, and every carol ever sung. A madcap romp through the holiday season! Though the play has a very “improv” feel, it is fully scripted, and includes scenes with audience member on-stage participation. There is extensive physical comedy, and the action is fast-paced. During much of the performance, all three actors remain on stage.
An open casting call for this Community Theatre comedy production will be held at The Waldo on Saturday, October 12, from 10am until noon, and Wednesday evening, October 16, from 6pm until 8pm.
Members of the local community are invited to audition for the three gender- and age-neutral roles. All roles require some basic singing ability, the ability to learn very simple choreography, and ability to mimic speaking accents. 3x weekly rehearsals (typically two weeknights and one weekend day per week) will begin in late October. Beginning the week of Dec 8 technical and dress rehearsals will be held nightly.
Prepare for audition:
Auditionees should be prepared to cold read from an assortment of sides available at the audition.
