The Curtis Theatre, in partnership with Southgate Productions, is excited to announce auditions for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
Performer auditions will be held on November 11th and 12th, 2024, directed by Jonathan Infante and Tara Pitt, with music direction by Gabrielle Maldonado and choreography by Kelsie Blackwell.
Auditions and performances will take place at the Curtis Theatre in Brea, CA. All roles are paid, with stipends ranging from $500 to $1,500, and are open to non-union actors.
Audition Details:
- Dates: November 11th & 12th, 6 pm – 9 pm (no appointment necessary).
- Callbacks: By invitation only on November 13th.
- Location: Curtis Theatre, Brea, CA.
- Performances: February 7th – 23rd, 2025.
- Rehearsals: Scheduled based on availability in December 2024 and January 2025; not all actors will be called for every rehearsal.

Actors should prepare 16-32 bars from a contemporary musical or a 60s/70s song in the style of the show; an accompanist will be available (no track playback). Roles are open to performers of all ethnicities, genders, abilities, and body types. Note: historically accurate casting will be observed for non-fictitious characters.
For those auditioning for Carole or Barry, please be prepared to play and sing a song on piano if called back.
