The Wizard of Oz – Principal & Ensemble Casting – New York City
Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines will be holding an open call audition in New York City for their at sea production of “The Wizard of Oz.”
The Wizard of Oz is holding auditions in New York City for principal and ensemble roles from September 30 to October 3, 2024. This exciting opportunity involves performing both in The Wizard of Oz and an original Royal Caribbean Signature Production aboard the Icon of the Seas.
Open calls will take place for principals on September 30 and for ensemble on October 1, with callbacks scheduled for October 2-3. The production seeks exceptional singers, actors, and dancers with strong technical and performance skills, who are also open to international travel as part of the contract.
Rehearsals begin in February 2025, with the contract starting in April 2025.

Roles:
Principals:
Exceptional singer/actors with the ability to perform both musical theater and pop/rock genres. Strong movement skills are a plus.
Principals (Featured Singers) will perform in The Wizard of Oz (3-4 shows weekly) and in an original Royal Caribbean Signature Production on board the Icon of the Seas (3-4 shows weekly). Candidates must be willing to travel internationally.
Ensemble:
Dancer/singers with strong technical skills in contemporary and commercial styles. Acro/tumbling experience is a plus.
Ensemble members should also have good singing and acting abilities and be able to understudy principal roles. Ensemble members will perform in The Wizard of Oz and the Royal Caribbean Signature Production (3-4 shows weekly).
Open Call Details:
- Principals: Prepare two songs – one traditional musical theater and one pop/rock.
- Ensemble: Come prepared to dance first. Additionally, prepare a 16-bar cut of a pop/rock song.
