The Beaufort Theatre Company will be holding open auditions. These auditions are general auditions for actors, ages 15 and over, who would like to participate in Center for the Arts fall shows.

The Beaufort Center for the Arts, located at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB), is a hub for artistic expression and cultural engagement in South Carolina. Situated in Beaufort, known for its rich history and scenic beauty, the center serves as a focal point for creativity, offering a diverse array of visual and performing arts programs. It provides a venue for local and regional artists to showcase their work through exhibitions, performances, and community events.

The Beaufort Center for the Arts also plays a vital role in education, offering workshops, classes, and lectures that enrich the artistic skills and cultural understanding of its patrons. Beaufort Theatre Company is comprised of Lowcountry amateur and professional actors who share a love for the performing arts.

Auditions:

Sunday, June 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the USC Beaufort Center for the Arts.

USCB Center for the Arts
805 Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC.

Call backs: will take place on Monday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.

All performances will be held at USCB Center for the Arts.

Audition Details:

  • Bring: A nonreturnable photo.
  • Arrival: Arrive 15 minutes early to complete forms, or download the PDF from the USCB Center for the Arts website.
  • Song Preparation: Prepare a 16-bar maximum song from a classic Broadway musical. Bring your own accompaniment track on a device; a cappella singing is not preferred.
  • Evaluation Criteria: Judges will be assessing pitch matching, range, and part independence. Choose a selection that best showcases your abilities.
  • Monologue: Prepare a 30- to 60-second monologue. Memorization is encouraged but not required.
  • Attire: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and be ready to learn some dance moves.
  • Note: Not all who audition will be cast.
