Silhouette Stages’ 20th Season Opener: EVITA
Silhouette Stages is excited to kick off their 20th season with the iconic musical Evita, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

About the musical: Evita chronicles the rise of María Eva Duarte de Perón from a poor Argentinian girl to the revered First Lady of Argentina. Marrying Juan Perón, she uses her charm and ambition to secure her place in politics, championing the poor and working class. The story, narrated by Che, captures her complex legacy of compassion and power. This musical, immortalized in the 1996 film starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, reveals both the passionate drive and the controversial tactics of Argentina’s most famous first lady.

- Monday, July 8, 2024: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Tuesday, July 9, 2024: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

- Appointment Required: Sign up here
- Eligibility: Open to all performers aged 16 and up. Non-union, non-paid roles. Auditions for children (ages 6-12) will be announced later.
- Preparation:
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
- Bring a headshot, resume, and sheet music in the correct key.
- Prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of Evita.
- Be ready for a short dance routine.
- Piano accompanist provided; no tracks or a cappella.
- Callbacks: By invitation on Thursday, July 11, 2024, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM at Slayton House.
Rehearsal & Performance Schedule:
- Rehearsals: Begin late August 2024, at Slayton House.
- Mondays & Wednesdays: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Tech Week: Starts October 13, 2024.

Please provide all known conflicts at your audition. Conflicts during tech week or performances will not be accepted.
Roles for Silhouette Stages’ Production of Evita:
- Eva Perón (Lead, Female, Mezzo-soprano): Age range 15-33. Charismatic, ambitious, and power-seeking. Requires strong vocal stamina and a clear, strong mix that can belt to a high G and sing to a low E. Must be a passionate actor who can portray a vivacious teenager and a sophisticated diva.
- Che (Lead, Male, Tenor): Age range 21-35. Narrator, dashing and impulsive. Represents all activists. Must relate to the audience, sing a low A to high B, and falsetto to high F. Should be a strong actor/singer who moves well.
- Juan Perón (Lead, Male, Baritone): Age range 32-50. Dignified, authoritative Argentinean officer who becomes President. Requires military posture and a strong stage presence. Sings bass/baritone to high F.
- Agustín Magaldi (Featured, Male, Tenor, Doubles Ensemble): Age range 30-40. Tango singer, Eva’s first love affair. Charming, comedic, establishes Latin flavor. Sings high tenor to high G.
- Perón’s Mistress (Featured, Female, Mezzo-soprano, Doubles Ensemble): Age range 16-21. Beautiful, fragile, and vulnerable. Plays Juan Perón’s teenage mistress. Sings low A to high E. Features in “Another Suitcase in Another Hall.”
- Ensemble: Age range 16-50s. Diverse ethnicities and strong singing voices. Plays various roles from Generals to Peasants. Strong dance ability encouraged, particularly tango dancers. Highly featured throughout the show.
