This general audition is for shows in New Stage Theatre’s 2024-2025 season. Auditions are for multiple shows and directors will schedule callbacks at a later date.
About New Stage Theatre: New Stage Theatre, located at The Jane Reid-Petty Theatre Center in Jackson, MS, produces five plays each year as part of its subscription series. In addition, the theatre presents a Holiday show, an annual SchoolFest matinee, and a kids-only summer camp show, all featuring local talent. Productions range from masterworks to contemporary classics to new plays, maintaining the professional quality for which New Stage is renowned.

Open Audition Dates and Times:
For Adults:
- Monday, August 12: 2:00 – 3:30 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Tuesday, August 13: 6:00 – 8:00 pm
For Teens (ages 13 through 17):
- Monday, August 12: 3:30 – 5:50 pm
- Tuesday, August 13: 4:00 – 5:50 pm
Registration Deadlines:
- Registration opens on July 23
- Deadline for all auditions is Thursday, August 8 at 5:00 pm
Audition Info:
To audition, begin by scheduling an appointment online starting July 23 or by calling extension 222. You must prepare and memorize a monologue that is no longer than 2 minutes. Additionally, bring a recent photo to leave with the theatre. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the necessary paperwork. While bringing a resume is encouraged, it is not mandatory. If you choose, you may prepare up to 60 seconds of any song. New Stage Theatre will provide a CD player, iPod deck, and keyboard, but you may also bring your own accompanist since the theatre will not provide one. It is important to avoid singing a cappella; instead, use accompaniment from a CD, iPod, or piano player. Finally, note that auditions will be strictly timed, with a maximum of 3 minutes allotted per actor.
