The beloved Polar Express train attraction in Whippany, NJ, is now hiring actors.
Open auditions will be held in Manhattan NY.
Auditions for the Polar Express ride will be Tuesday the 30th and Wednesday the 31st at Ripley-Grier Studios in NYC and on August 1st in Whippany, NJ. Please note that the 30th and 8/1 dates are by appointment only and the 31st is an open cattle call type audition. The open call in Whippany, NJ may see walk ins, if time permits but appointments will get priority.
Located in the charming town of Whippany, in the heart of New York, “The Polar Express Train Ride” is a 60-minute live production that departs from the Whippany Railway Museum. This enchanting show brings the classic holiday story to life with a blend of scripted scenes, live singing, dancing, and extensive audience interaction, ensuring a magical experience for guests of all ages. Each show day features 2-5 departures, providing multiple opportunities for audiences to join this festive journey.

Details:
Rehearsals will be at Ripley Grier Studios, 520 8th Ave in Manhattan.
Rail Events Productions will provide a shuttle bus from Midtown Manhattan to and from the job site in Whippany, NJ. Actors may also self-report if they choose. There are 3-5 train departures per show day. Housing is not provided.
PAY RATES
All Roles (except Santa & Hero Child): $21.50/hour
Santa: $36/hour

PAY RATE NOTE: This role is paid on an hourly basis, including overtime for weeks exceeding 40 hours. The base hourly rate is $21.50/hour ($36/hour for Santa). Presuming a fully realized performance season (no unexpected cancellations or Acts of God), and if actors work the entirety of their assigned schedule, Whippany actors will work approximately 391 total hours from the start of rehearsals to the closing day performance.
