Pierre Players will be holding auditions for the classic comedy You Can’t Take It With You.
Auditions will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. CDT, at the Grand Opera House. This production offers both small and large roles for people of all ages. The cast includes nine male and seven female roles, as well as three male extras. There are also opportunities for those interested in behind-the-scenes work.
About the Play: You Can’t Take It With You centers on the quirky, lovable Sycamore family, whose eccentric lifestyle contrasts sharply with the more conventional Kirby family. When Tony Kirby falls in love with Alice Sycamore, he brings his parents over for dinner—on the wrong night. The clash of cultures leads to a comedic series of misunderstandings, but in the end, the Kirbys are won over by the Sycamores’ joyful madness. The play also features a colorful array of side characters, including a tax-evading grandpa, a duchess-turned-waitress, and a household engaged in the unconventional activities of fireworks manufacturing and printing.
