Vermont Theatre Company Auditions for One-Act Plays

Are you an aspiring actor or creative enthusiast looking for an opportunity to shine? The Vermont Theatre Company is hosting auditions for their fall showcase of four One-Act Plays on September 30th at 6:00 PM.

Auditions will be held in the Community Meeting Room on the second floor of the Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro, VT.

About the Productions:

This exciting showcase will feature four distinct one-act plays, directed by local talents Jesse Tidd, Kay Beckett, Dante Mauriello, and Casey Parles. The lineup includes:

  • In the Shadow of the Glen by J.M. Synge – a classic tale of mystery and betrayal.
  • 11:11 by James Perry – a contemporary play exploring fate and the moments that define us.
  • Emotional Baggage by Lindsay Price – a humorous and touching story that delves into how we carry our emotions.
  • Rappaccini’s Daughter – an adaptation of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s story, written by Dante Mauriello, bringing gothic literature to life.

Casting & Creative Roles:

The plays collectively require 18 adult actors. Whether you’re an experienced performer or new to the stage, these one-act plays offer a chance to participate in an exciting, collaborative experience. In addition to acting roles, creative positions are also available for costumes, set building, lighting, props, and sound.

What to Expect at Auditions:

This will be a group audition, kicking off at 6:00 PM. Participants will fill out audition forms with contact information, participate in collaborative theater games, and read scenes from the plays alongside other auditioners. Expect to stay until 7:30 PM for the full experience. No preparation is required, just bring your enthusiasm!

Performance & Rehearsal Info:

  • Rehearsals: Begin the week of October 14th.
  • Performance Dates: November 21st-24th, 2024.
