Amazon’s new crime drama “Criminal” is filming in Portland Oregon and is casting paid extras.
If you are local to the Portland, Oregon area, you have a chance to land a small, paid role on set. Portland Area casting directors have released quite a few casting calls for background actors who are available to fill the non speaking roles.
“Criminal” is based on a series of graphic novels by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. The graphic novel collection is critically acclaimed and delves into the dark, gritty underworld of crime and corruption. Amazon’s new show promises to stay true to the novels with intricate plots and morally complex characters. Each volume of the graphic novel weaves interconnected stories that explore themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. The show offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional gangster and gumshoe stories while attempting to convey the spirit of Brubaker and Phillips’ noir aesthetic.”

Charlie Hunnam is set to star in the lead role of the Amazon Prime Video adaptation of “Criminal.” Best known for his portrayal of Jax Teller in the FX series “Sons of Anarchy,” a role for which he was twice nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor, Hunnam will now take on the character of Leo. Leo is described as a brilliant master thief who avoids guns and violence, always thinking three moves ahead like a chess player. Other criminals see him as a coward, especially compared to his father Tommy, who was imprisoned for murdering the most feared man in the city, Teeg Lawless.
The cast also includes Richard Jenkins, John Hawkes, Adria Arjona, Logan Browning, Kadeem Hardison, Pat Healy, Taylor Sele, Gus Halper, Aliyah Camacho, Michael Mando, Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier, and Dominic Burgess.
