Primus Begins Search for New Drummer as Tim “Herb” Alexander Exits Band.
The iconic alternative metal band Primus is officially on the hunt for a new drummer. Following the recent departure of longtime drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander, the band is holding auditions to find a drummer who can match Alexander’s high-caliber skill and intensity behind the kit. Known for their unique sound and technical prowess, Primus is setting a high standard for any hopefuls who want to take on the role.
Alexander, who has been a defining part of the Primus rhythm section for years, chose to exit the band last month, leaving an opening that only a truly skilled drummer will be able to fill. Primus has consistently pushed boundaries in the alternative metal scene, so this is an great yet challenging opportunity for any percussionist ready to step into a very distinctive band.
In a statement shared on November 18th, the band officially announced their search:
“We are currently taking submissions from all points in the universe for the position of Primus drummer/percussionist.
Seeking a well-mannered, affable individual with original sensibility and aesthetic, possessing a desire to open new doors in the creative world.
Flashy chops are wonderful, but groove, pocket, and the ability to listen, react, and contribute to the musical conversation is a must.
Submit resume and a recent video performance to drumsearch@primusville.com.”
