Calling All Talented Singers! Join the San Diego Master Chorale for the 2025-26 Season
The San Diego Master Chorale (SDMC) is seeking passionate vocalists to audition for their upcoming season in January 2025. Applications are open for both volunteer singers and paid staff singers in all vocal sections.
Founded in 1961, the SD Master Chorale is a dynamic 130-voice chorus of San Diego County residents. The ensemble is composed of both dedicated volunteer singers and a core group of paid staff singers, creating a rich and diverse community of musicians. The Chorale’s repertoire is extensive, featuring everything from symphonic and chamber works to sacred pieces, Broadway hits, and contemporary choral masterpieces.
Rehearsal Schedule: Regular rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley. Additional rehearsals are scheduled in the week leading up to each concert, with occasional sectional rehearsals as needed.
Audition Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Complete the Audition Request Form by December 2, 2024.
- Submit a pre-screening video (a recent performance within the last 6 months) as part of the application.
Audition Timeline:
Applications: applications from all sections will be accepted for both Volunteer and paid Staff Singer positions.

Singers who pass the pre-screening process will be invited to an in-person audition in January.
