Shakespeare Theater Auditions in Odessa, Texas

The Globe Theatre at Odessa College is excited to announce auditions for its Spring 2025 mainstage production of Cymbeline.

Cymbeline is one of William Shakespeare’s most thrilling and imaginative plays. Directed by Aaron Ganz, this production will mark the debut of Odessa College’s new outdoor amphitheater with its opening weekend of performances, followed by the second weekend staged indoors at the historic Globe Theatre. This reimagining of Cymbeline combines tragedy, comedy, and fantasy with dynamic choreography, electrifying music, epic battle scenes, and a guiding narrator, ensuring an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Performances are scheduled for April 10-19, 2025, and the Globe Theatre is seeking enthusiastic individuals from across the Permian Basin to audition. No prior acting or Shakespearean experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and grow in live theater.

Auditions will be held on the following dates:

  • December 7 (noon to 4 p.m.)
  • December 8 (noon to 4 p.m.)
  • December 11 (6–8 p.m.)
  • December 12 (6–8 p.m.)

Auditions will consist of a brief Shakespearean or classical monologue, 30 seconds of singing, and a creative moment reflecting your fearless side. Include your top three preferred time slots, a brief description of your performance background, and why you’d like to join the ensemble.

The cast will consist of 14 actors and 5 understudies, portraying themes of romance, betrayal, and adventure. Rehearsals begin on January 11, 2025, with a flexible schedule to accommodate conflicts.
