The Sioux City Municipal Band announces auditions for musicians to join the ensemble.
The Sioux City Municipal Band performs eight summer concerts, beginning the first Sunday in June, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grandview Park Bandshell and here is your chance to join the band.
While their 1st audition just passed, they have another audition date coming up on April 1st.
The Sioux City Municipal Band is a cherished institution within the vibrant cultural landscape of Sioux City, Iowa. Established over a century ago in 1919, this esteemed ensemble has been delighting audiences with its stirring performances ever since. Comprising talented musicians from the local community, the band showcases a diverse repertoire, ranging from classic marches to contemporary compositions. Under the direction of dedicated conductors, the band continues to uphold its tradition of excellence, enriching the community with its music through regular concerts, parades, and special events.

Available positions are for full-time positions in several sections of the band as well as positions fit for substitute players. Interested musicians must make an appointment – please see the audition notice below.
The Municipal Band’s summer concert season begins on Sunday, June 2 and will continue through July 21. These concerts are presented by the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department.
The auditions will take place on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Morningside University’s Eppley Auditorium Room 100, which is located at 3625 Garretson Ave.
