The Sumter Players are excited to announce auditions for the opening show of their 60th anniversary season, “Harvey,” next week.
Many may recall the 1950 film adaptation starring Jimmy Stewart as Elwood P. Dowd, a genial yet quirky man who befriends an invisible giant rabbit.
Auditions will be held at the Georgia Southwestern Experimental Theatre on July 29th, July 31st, and August 1st, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Performances will take place at the historic Rylander Theater from October 3-6.
Additionally, for their annual holiday production, Sumter Players will present “Elf, the Musical.” Auditions for this show are scheduled for September 3-5 at 6:30 p.m., also at the Georgia Southwestern Experimental Theatre. Performances will be held at the Rylander Theater on December 6, 7 (two shows), and 8.
Details of the entire 60th anniversary season will be released on August 1st.
