Odessa Texas residents can be a part of the new Paramount+ Show, Landman.
The series has been filming in different areas of Texas and casting directors at Brock Allen Casting seeking approximately 500 paid extras.
The upcoming Paramount+ series “Landman,” is co-created by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame and West Texan Christian Wallace, known for the podcast “Boomtown.”
The cast features Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, Ali Larter as Angela Norris, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris, Jacob Lofland as Copper Norris, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chavez, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm.
The series, set in West Texas, explores the modern-day pursuit of fortune in the oil rig industry. Wallace’s podcast, which delves into the lives of West Texans, serves as inspiration for the show.
Casting Call for Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” TV Show in Graham and Ft. Worth TX
Filming began about two months ago in the Fort Worth area and will include scenes at the Permian High School spring game in Odessa on May 16. Once the quota for paid extras is met, volunteers will be welcomed to watch the scrimmage. The filming day will be long, starting around 2 p.m. and lasting until the early morning of May 17, with a meal break included.
According to interviews with the casting directors at Brock Allen, it promises to be an enjoyable experience for all involved paid or not. Casting directors stated that they only have paid spots for around 500 people but welcome more people who would simply like to volunteer to be part of of what will most likely be another hit series for the Paramount+ streaming service.
“We have a limited number of paid extras that we are going to get to look for and that number is 500. Then obviously, it’s a real scrimmage game for Odessa Permian so there will be all of the usual fans (and) parents … They say there’s usually between 1,000 and 1,500, so that’s about what it will look like.”
