The Winters Theatre Company announced open actor auditions for Doubt: A Parable.
The Winters Theatre Company, a staple in the community for over 40 years, is excited to announce an open casting call for its upcoming production of Doubt: A Parable, a powerful drama by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley.
Directed by Sacramento based Ally Heatherly, this will be her debut as director with the company. The play is set in a Catholic school in the Bronx in 1964, centering on a school scandal that raises profound questions about truth and morality.
“I’m really looking for people that I haven’t seen before,” says Director Ally Heatherly, based in Sacramento with this production being her directorial debut.

Heatherly is eager to see fresh faces at auditions and encourages actors of all experience levels to participate. “I’m looking for people I haven’t worked with before—new talent and new energy,” she says. The production is open to anyone interested, even those with little to no acting experience, as resumes and headshots are not required for the audition.
Auditions will be held for four key roles—two female and two male—ranging in age from 20 to 60. Heatherly emphasizes that above all, she’s looking for individuals who are passionate about storytelling. “I want people who are excited to bring the play’s powerful themes to life,” she shares.
Doubt: A Parable will be the first show of Winters Theatre Company’s 2025 season, running from January 31 to February 9, with additional performances to follow.
