On Stage Playhouse, Monroe’s community theater, invites aspiring performers to audition for the musical comedy “Disaster.”
Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, May 4, from 1-4 p.m. The production will run for nine performances from July 12-28. Artistic Director Marc Hammes describes the show as a side-splitting tale of New York City elite embarking on a calamity-laden cruise, featuring earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos, and even killer rats, all set to a backdrop of ’70s hit songs. Rated PG-13, the production boasts Hammes as director, Mandy Stertzbach as vocal musical director, and Amanda Gibson as choreographer.
