Playhouse 44 – Avon, CT Announces Open Auditions for Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite
Playhouse 44, Avon’s premier not-for-profit community theater, is excited to announce open auditions for its second production, Neil Simon’s classic comedy Plaza Suite.
Performance Dates:
- Friday, January 17
- Saturday, January 18
- Sunday, January 19
Performances will take place at Avon High School’s state-of-the-art auditorium. Rehearsals are scheduled for November, December, and early January.
About the Play:
Plaza Suite is a trio of comedic one-act plays, each set in the same luxurious suite at New York’s Plaza Hotel. The plays explore personal, marital, and romantic situations between a man and a woman, balancing humor with a touch of drama.

Audition Information:
Where: The Yoga Shop of Avon, Riverdale Farms, 136 Simsbury Rd, Building 4, 2nd Floor
When:
Monday, October 14: 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 15: 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Callbacks: Wednesday, October 16
Audition Process:
- Select either audition day and arrive anytime between 7:20 and 9:20 p.m.
- Be prepared for a brief wait.
- Sides will be provided at the audition. Please bring a resume if you have one.
Roles:
- Main roles (ages 40s-50s): Focus on each one-act’s primary couple.
- Supporting roles (ages early 20s to late 30s): Various male and female characters.
- Each one-act will feature a separate cast, with the exception of some secondary roles.

Playhouse 44, a 501(c)(3) organization, continues to offer Avon and the Farmington Valley affordable, engaging cultural events. Our next event, an evening of storytelling, will be held in October at the Avon Congregational Church.
