The Beverly Theatre Guild, Chicago’s longest running community theatre company, announces open auditions for Godspell.
“Godspell” is a beloved musical that tells the timeless story of friendship, love, and redemption through a series of parables based on the Gospel of Matthew. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, the show follows the journey of Jesus and his disciples as they spread messages of kindness, forgiveness, and compassion.
Set in contemporary times, “Godspell” features a vibrant score that blends pop, rock, and folk elements, creating an uplifting and immersive theatrical experience.

All roles will be cast from open auditions and callbacks (if necessary).
Auditionees, please prepare 32 bars of music appropriate to the show, but not necessarily from Godspell 2012. Sheet music is preferred. Digital tracks are also acceptable; however, you may be asked to perform a pitch check with our accompanist. Auditionees with special skills such as those who play a musical instrument, juggle, acrobatics, etc. are encouraged to audition.
