Southern State Community College Theatre Company invites you to audition for the summer production of “Voices of the Earth: From Sophocles to Rachel Carson and Beyond,” compiled by Rush Rehm and Charlie Junkerman of Stanford Repertory Theatre.
AUDITION DATE & TIME: Wednesday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Edward K. Daniels Auditorium Southern State Community College Central Campus 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: “Voices of the Earth” delves into the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world. This staged reading features powerful wilderness imagery, environmental pioneers, nature writers, playwrights inspired by nature, native American voices, poets honoring the earth, environmental activists, climate change discussions, and scientific insights. Through stirring narratives and thought-provoking dialogues, the production highlights both the looming threats and the uplifting call to action.
AUDITION DETAILS: Open to community members and students. Cold readings from the script will be conducted during auditions. Crew positions available. Crew applicants will undergo interviews during auditions.

ALTERNATE AUDITION: If unable to attend the audition date, contact director Rainee Angles (rangles@sscc.edu) to schedule an alternate audition before May 22.
PERFORMANCE DETAILS: “Voices of the Earth” will be performed on Saturday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and available for purchase now.
