Open Auditions for Young Frankenstein

The Memorial Opera house has announced open auditions for their production of “Young Frankenstein.” The theater is looking forward to the fall season with this classic musical inspired by the iconic Mel Brooks comedy that will be rehearsed this summer for performance that will run September  26th through October 16th at the Memorial Opera House in Indiana.

From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation The Producers comes Young Frankenstein, a monstrously entertaining musical comedy. Mel Brooks adapts his classic film into a brilliant stage creation, bringing the tale of Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”), who inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With his hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (“Eye-gore”), and leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick follows in his infamous grandfather’s footsteps, creating a creature to rival his ancestor’s. With hilarity ensuing, the monster escapes, leading to continuous laughter and memorable tunes such as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”
