During the auditions, participants will be asked to perform cold readings from the script. While a resume and headshot are appreciated, they are not mandatory. The audition will also include a singing segment (16 to 20 bars from a musical) and a brief dance routine.

Please note that the roles of Robin Hood and Little John have already been cast.

Available roles:

  • Maid Marian: Robin’s love interest, who is intelligent, compassionate, and brave.
  • The Sheriff of Nottingham: The cunning and ruthless antagonist.
  • Friar Tuck: A jovial, kind-hearted monk with a fondness for food and drink.
  • Alan-a-Dale: A charming minstrel and storyteller.
  • Much the Miller’s Son: A resourceful and courageous member of Robin’s band.
  • Prince John: The evil prince clinging to power while King Richard is at war.

Additionally, we are casting for four Ladies in Waiting, various townspeople, and members of Prince John’s Norman forces.

Callbacks will be held at 7 p.m. on August 22. All auditions will be at Winter’s Theater Co. in Winters, CA.

The history of this production is rich, with its origins tracing back to 1977 when the Bad Actors of the Davis Old Palms Playhouse performed a musical version of Robin Hood to rave reviews. Inspired by this, the Winters Theatre Company created its own original “Robin Hood” musical in 2020, blending songs from the original production with new music. Although initially scheduled for live performance in May 2020, the production was postponed due to COVID-19 and was later adapted for a Zoom performance during the pandemic.

We are thrilled to bring this show to life on stage at the Winters Opera House, with performances scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from November 22 through December 1.
