Frank Jackson – 56: A divorced father and real estate agent, Frank has been in the “Home Selling Business” for years. A longtime friend of the Kinderwood family, Frank sold his home ten years ago as a gift to the Kinderwoods during a difficult time when Nick Kinderwood was placed into a mental institution due to his autism and meltdowns. Frank saw this as an opportunity to help Nick and give him a chance at a better life. Raised to give when able, Frank believes in compassion, understanding, and creating opportunities for others, especially those in need. His marriage began well but quickly soured as his wife revealed her true nature—snooty, rude, ignorant, and arrogant—often blaming Frank for her own poor behavior. Their arguments left a lasting impact on their son, Ed. When Frank filed for divorce during Ed’s first year of high school, they never saw or heard from her again, as if she vanished completely. Frank is a kind and compassionate father, but he can be firm when necessary, especially with Ed, fulfilling his duty to guide his son.
Bob Brown – 58: Born into a middle-class family as the oldest of two brothers, Bob found his passion for helping people early on through community center events and camps, where he met Nick Kinderwood. Hired by Nick’s younger brother as a case manager to assist Nick with errands and household tasks, Bob couldn’t refuse, knowing that serving his community with kindness was his life’s purpose. Throughout his career as an associate receptionist at various companies, Bob earned a reputation as a kind soul who could still speak up when necessary. Now semi-retired, Bob works with Nick three times a week, running errands, spending time with him, and being a compassionate friend. Bob is deeply passionate about advocating for the vulnerable, particularly people with disabilities, and is not afraid to voice his anger and frustration when he sees injustice. His advocacy began while working as a receptionist, during which time Nick would stop by to clean just before Bob’s office closed.
