DETAILS AND AUDITIONS INFORMATION:
Production Company: Starvox Entertainment
Casting: Starvox Casting

Rate: $750 – $900

Rehearsals: in Toronto beginning Sept 10th
First Performance: Oct 5th

Evil Dead the Musical is the story of five college students who go on to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s up to Ash, a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero, and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes… and all to music.

SEEKING:
ASH – (Male, 20’s-early 30’s)
Ash starts our story as a mild-mannered housewares employee, who evolves into a chainsaw wielding, wisecracking, deadite slaying hero. We are looking for a strong comedic actor, who can emulate the “Bruce Campbell” swagger from “Army of Darkness”, while walking the fine line between earnest fear and ridiculous cheesiness. Must be comfortable with stage combat.
Vocal Range: Tenor

ANNIE / SHELLY – (Female, 20’s-early 30’s)
Annie is an archeologist, who finds the missing pages to the Necronomicon for her father’s research. She’s strong willed and at times, overbearing, but when the blood starts flying, she’s just as bold and determined as Ash.
Shelly is beautiful, basic, and looking to party. She is Scotty’s latest fling and later becomes a sexy demonic killing machine. We are looking for a tall comedic performer with a belty voice. Must be comfortable in a tear away semi-revealing costume.
Vocal Range: Mezzo / Belter

CHERYL (Female, in her 20’s)
Cheryl is Ash’s little sister. She loves to read books and bake and unfortunately is the butt of Scotty’s misogynistic jokes (don’t worry, he gets what’s coming to him). Later, her dorky and sweet demeanour goes out the window when she becomes a jive talking, bad pun spewing, vessel of Satan, as she stalks the kids from down in her cellar. Must have strong comic skills, along with being comfortable with stage combat and tight spaces.
Vocal Range: Mezzo / Belter / Blues

SCOTT (Male, 20’s-early 30’s)
Scott is Ash’s best friend and the cocky handsome frat boy who’s the life of the party. Although he’s immature, crude and kind of a dick, he does it all with a smile on his face and somehow comes off as a “charmer”. “Steve Stifler” type energy. Actor must have strong comic skills and be a solid mover.
Vocal Range: Tenor

JAKE (Male, late 20’s-40’s)
Jake is a trailer dwelling yokel, living in the woods. He’s straight up country and is looking to make a few bucks. Turns out he’s quite reliable and often the voice of reason in the face of all the madness. We need a strong comic performer with big energy, who’s also a capable mover.
Vocal Range: Tenor
LINDA (Female, 20’s-early 30’s)
Linda is the girl next door. She’s sweet, thoughtful and devoted to Ash, until she turns into a zombie that is! Actor must have strong comic skills and be a solid mover.
Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano

ED / EVIL MOOSE (Male, 20’s-30’s)
Ed is Annie’s boyfriend and a fellow archeologist. He is tall, handsome and should be the hero. However, Annie clearly dominates the relationship and Ash takes care of all the demons leaving Ed…speechless. Ed never gets a word in. This actor must have comic skills, be a strong mover and capable of doing a “Bullwinkle” style Moose voice.
Vocal Range: Baritone
