Canzona Women’s Ensemble announced auditions for their upcoming fall concert, “Songs of the Americas.”
Auditions will be held on August 15 in San Luis Obispo and August 17 in Shell Beach. They are seeking enthusiastic singers with previous choral experience who have a passion for music and community.
About Canzona Women’s Ensemble:
Canzona is San Luis Obispo County’s premier all-women’s choral group, presenting two concerts per season, one in the fall and one in the spring. The ensemble collaborates with various artists on the Central Coast, including poets, composers, dancers, and musicians, to highlight the power and beauty of women’s choral repertoire. Founded in the summer of 2009 by artistic directors and co-conductors Cricket Handler and Jill Anderson, Canzona brings a unique and enriching musical experience to the community.
Audition Details:
Canzona Women’s Ensemble is looking for women with prior choral experience who are eager to showcase their vocal talents. Ideal candidates will have a strong sense of musicality, dedication, and a desire to contribute to the ensemble’s success. Auditions will include a prepared solo piece of the singer’s choice, sight-reading exercises, and vocal range exploration.
