Eastside Theater Company announces Open Auditions for “Bye Bye Birdie Musical Youth Edition”
Bye Bye Birdie is the November 2024 Production.
Bye Bye Birdie is a classic musical comedy that follows the story of rock ‘n’ roll superstar Conrad Birdie, who is drafted into the army, much to the dismay of his adoring fans. To generate publicity, his manager arranges for Birdie to give “one last kiss” to a lucky fan on live television before his departure. The fan chosen is Kim MacAfee, a teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio, leading to a series of comedic events and misunderstandings in the small town.

Auditions Due by Sat Aug 3, 2024 – auditions via zoom.
Online Auditions will be accepted through 11:59 pm on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.
This is a firm deadline! Please do not wait until the last hour to audition.
Rehearsals: Sep 5 – Oct 30, 2024.
No Rehearsal: Halloween October 31st.
Production Dates: Nov 1 – Nov 10, 2024Rehearsal Days: Monday / Tuesday / Thursday 6-8:00pm

No Conflict Zone: Oct 13th – Nov 11th, 2024. Only graded school events, illness or emergencies will be considered excused absences. Other absences (such as vacations, or other events) are not excused and may result in being removed from the production.
All Callbacks, meetings, rehearsals, and productions are held at our location at Springwater Church in Gresham. 3445 SE Hillyard Rd.
Callbacks: If your student receives a callback, that will take place on Saturday, August 10th from 9am-Noon in person.
Receiving a callback does not mean your student is cast. Not receiving a callback does not mean your student is cut. We expect to cast the production soon after that.
We welcome students without previous theater experience. An Information Meeting will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 6:00pm. This meeting will also be available on Zoom. We will record the meeting, so if you are unable to attend or watch live, you will be able to see this meeting.
