About the Play:
In Tennessee Williams’ gripping Southern Gothic drama, Mrs. Violet Venable is shattered by the mysterious death of her son Sebastian while abroad. Once his constant companion, Violet is devastated to learn her cousin Catharine accompanied him on his final trip. Since her return, Catharine’s shocking claims about their journey threaten to ruin Sebastian’s reputation. Determined to preserve her son’s memory, Violet seeks the help of a young doctor specializing in lobotomy, offering him funding for his research if he agrees to treat Catharine. As the story unfolds, Violet’s delusions are confronted by Catharine’s harrowing tale, blurring the lines between illusion and truth.
