ABOUT THE FILM

Threshold is a psychological horror film exploring trauma, toxic relationships, and supernatural terror. The story follows Ruby, a young woman trapped in an abusive relationship, who is forced into a night of horror when her manipulative boyfriend, Michael, takes her to a secluded house with his reckless, drug-fueled friends. As tensions rise and strange occurrences unfold, the true terror lurking within the house reveals itself.

ROLES AVAILABLE

RUBY (LEAD, FEMALE, EARLY 20S, ANY ETHNICITY)
A young woman stuck in an abusive relationship, struggling with fear, survival, and reclaiming her agency. Intelligent, quiet, and observant but deeply trapped in Michael’s psychological control. Requires strong emotional depth and subtle physicality.

MICHAEL (LEAD, MALE, 20S-30S, ANY ETHNICITY)
Ruby’s manipulative and violent boyfriend. Charismatic and controlling, with a dangerous edge. Volatile and unpredictable, yet disturbingly charming when it benefits him. A deeply unsettling presence.

DEMI (SUPPORTING, FEMALE, 20S, ANY ETHNICITY)
Strong-willed, observant, and the only one who truly sees through Michael’s facade. Sarcastic, smart, and rebellious, she quickly picks up on Ruby’s distress. A critical presence in the film’s power dynamics.

ZEKE (SUPPORTING, MALE, 20S-30S, ANY ETHNICITY)
Michael’s reckless, drug-fueled friend. Chaotic and cocky, but also careless and morally ambiguous. Adds tension to the group dynamic.

JONAH (SUPPORTING, MALE, 20S, ANY ETHNICITY)
Detached, passive, and unbothered by the chaos. He spends most of his time on his phone, avoiding actual conflict. His apathy makes him unpredictable.

WAYNE (SUPPORTING, MALE, 40S-60S, ANY ETHNICITY)
A gas station attendant who notices Ruby’s bruises and unknowingly sets off Michael’s paranoia. Brief but pivotal role requiring a strong presence.
