The Pittsburgh Film Office has announced a casting call for the movie “Hershey.”
Now in Production: “HERSHEY” – A Major Motion Picture About the Life of Milton Hershey
Filming begins May 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas in Pennsylvania for HERSHEY, a highly anticipated feature film telling the incredible true story of chocolate pioneer Milton Hershey and his beloved wife, Catherine “Kitty” Hershey.
Directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls, The Spiderwick Chronicles), and starring Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story, The Big Short) alongside Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus, San Andreas), the film chronicles Hershey’s early struggles and ultimate triumph—not just in business, but in building a legacy of philanthropy, education, and community that lives on today.
Produced by Dandelion Media in partnership with the Hershey Entities and Aloe Entertainment, HERSHEY is slated for release in 2026, perfectly timed to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
This is a period film that will be set in the 1800’s, so the casting directors are looking for people who can fit that time frame and aren’t scared of wearing some period costumes. Casting will soon begin for background actors of all ages to portray characters from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Filming will run from May 12 to June 27, 2025 (excluding weekends).
