The Road Trip Comedy, “Driver’s Ed” is in production in North Carolina and casting paid background in the area.
A new movie is filming in Wilmington, NC. Since this is paid background / extras, work on set, no experience is required. However, those wanting to get a small role in the movie must be local to be considered as travel is not being paid.
After the November 25th release of his holiday comedy Dear Santa on Paramount+, Bobby Farrelly has signed on to direct Driver’s Ed, a teen ensemble comedy set to be fully financed and co-produced by Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios.
Although Farrelly had initially been slated to direct Sporkinfeesten, a family vacation comedy loosely inspired by true events, following the success of Aaron and Will Eisenberg’s spec script, Driver’s Ed has taken precedence and moved to the top of his schedule. The film is currently in the casting phase, with production set to begin in early 2025 in North Carolina.
Driver’s Ed, according to IMDB, follows a group of teens who steal their school’s driver’s ed car and embark on a road trip to help a high school senior track down his college freshman girlfriend in an effort to win her back. The original screenplay by Thomas Moffett (Shrink, An Actor Prepares) was commissioned and developed by Jonas Pate and Jennifer Pate, the co-creators of Netflix’s hit YA series Outer Banks. The film marks the first project in a new slate of cost-efficient YA films being put together by the Pates.
