The Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts Announces 2025 Season

The Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts (PTPA), located at 212 W. Broad St., Hazleton, PA, is thrilled to unveil its lineup of theatrical offerings for 2025, promising an entertaining mix of mystery, fundraising, and iconic performances.

Mainstage Season Opener: “Cabaret”
PTPA’s mainstage season begins with the Kander and Ebb classic, “Cabaret,” running from March 21 to March 30, 2025. Directed by Artistic Director Adam Randis and Music Director Michele Millington, with technical direction by Michael Wawrzynek, choreography by Jessica Woolnough, and costumes by Eyanna Wawrzynek, this production promises a dazzling blend of song and dance.

Auditions for “Cabaret”

Auditions for “Cabaret” are open to the public and will be held at PTPA from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, and Sunday, Jan. 12.

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish.

Please note that this is the 1998 revival version of the script and songs – see song list at bottom for details.
