Casting Call: immersive play, Stipend work, Chagrin Falls, OH
Location: Chagrin Falls, OH
Type: Theater
The Bohemian Comedians, a rising comedic theatrical troupe, is excited to announce in-person and online auditions on January 26th for performance roles.
The Roaring 2020s is an immersive, genre-bending murder mystery dinner experience that takes a hilariously chaotic turn when the production itself spirals out of control. Set in Capone’s Chicago, the story begins with the opening night of a 1920s speakeasy, featuring intrigue, espionage, and forbidden love. However, when the lead character, Lucy Lancer, is unexpectedly “murdered,” both the on-stage and backstage dramas collide in a whirlwind of eccentric characters and surprising twists.
Auditions for this unique production will be held in person and via video submission on January 26th at Reithoffer’s in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Performances are scheduled for March 6th and 13th, with actors receiving a $100 stipend per show.
Memorization is not required, but participants must prepare character-specific monologue cuts and provide a list of February conflicts.

The Roaring 2020s:
An Original Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Experience
Written and Directed By Jesse Oyster
The Roaring 2020s is a genre bending new work that seeks to take audiences through the immersive multi-layered story of a Murder mystery Dinner experience GONE WRONG.
Performance Dates: March 6th and 13th
The Synopsis (before the show goes wrong):
Power is a precarious ladder in Capone’s Chicago, especially when his family gets involved. The owner of Pablo’s Preserves, Chicago’s newest speakeasy, finds herself in over her head trying to balance a hostile takeover from the Italian mafia, and a gold mine trade agreement for imported vodka with a mysterious Russian duchess. Forbidden loves will be revealed, ambitions will be crushed, and loyalties will be pushed past the brink as they unravel the secrets behind a mysterious death.
The Synopsis (after the show goes wrong):
Lucy Lancer, the ambitious owner of Pablo’s, gets a little more than she bargained for after asking Broadway’s latest washed up actor/playwright, Maxwell Maddock, for a murder mystery dinner experience. Guests join in the action for the calamitous grand opening of a 1920s murder mystery filled with eccentric characters, bootlegging, and espionage. It is clear though from the beginning that strange ambitions are at work behind the scenes.
The murder mystery and backstage drama finally collide when Lucy is murdered during the opening toast in a flicker of the lights. As each performer breaks character and copes with the loss of their patron and friend, Maxwell refuses to drop character as Massimo, the Mafia Boss Bastard of Capone, until the mystery is solved. As guests work with the cast to uncover the secret plots of the other performers, they discover the owner might not have been the only potential victim of the night.
