Now Casting: Children Ages 4–17 for New WKAR Original Programming in East Lansing, MI
WKAR Public Media at Michigan State University is launching a new wave of original children’s programming. Furthermore, they’re looking for fresh, young talent to take part! Children between the ages of 4 and 17 are invited to audition for upcoming educational television and digital media content set to begin production in 2025.
Please note that there is NO PAY for this.
Audition Details:
Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM ET
Location: WKAR Studios, Michigan State University Campus, East Lansing, MI
Who: Children ages 4–17 (accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)
Compensation: Non-union, unpaid roles
What to Expect:
Selected cast members may be featured in a variety of WKAR’s upcoming educational segments, covering engaging topics such as:

Math and problem-solving

Outdoor adventures and travel
-
Civics and social studies
-
Emotions and self-expression
-
Arts, vlogging, and improvisation
Final content may appear on WKAR’s broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms, including the PBS App and video.wkar.org. Filming is expected to take place throughout the 2025–2026 calendar year.
