Audition Notice: “She Loves Me(rlot)” – A Cabaret Celebration of “She Loves Me”
Acting Under the Influence is thrilled to announce auditions for our February cabaret, “She Loves Me(rlot),” a spirited and entertaining tribute to the beloved musical She Loves Me.
Audition Details:
- Submission Deadline: Open from January 20 through midnight, January 27.
- Callbacks: Virtual callbacks will be held by appointment on Friday, January 31.
- Rehearsals and Performance: Detailed information is provided in the audition form.
Roles:
- ACTOR ONE: Arpad Laszlo. Delivery boy at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. He is ambitious and adorable.
– Vocal range: Bb2 to E4. Doubles as Man #1. - ACTOR TWO: Ladislav Sipos. Not the brightest employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.
– Vocal range: A2 to E4. - ACTOR THREE: Ilona Ritter. Employed at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.
– Vocal range: F#3 to E5.’ - ACTOR FOUR: Steven Kodaly. A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer.
– Vocal range: B2 to A4. Doubles as Man #2. - ACTOR FIVE: Georg Nowack. An established employee of Maraczek’s Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken.
– Vocal range: B2 to F4. - ACTOR SIX: Mr. Maraczek. Owner of Maraczek’s Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.
– Vocal range: B2 to C4. - ACTOR SEVEN: Amalia Balash. The eager new employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimated and nervous. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature.
– Vocal range: C4 to B5. - ENSEMBLE: Three actors to play store customers, carolers, and couples at Cafe Imperiale. Solo spoken and singing lines. Vocal range of alto to soprano.

Auditions open from January 20th, 2025 to January 27th, 2025.
Callbacks: Friday, January 31st, 2025 via Zoom.
Read-through / sing-through / blocking: Sunday, February 9th, 2025. 6 PM – 9 PM. Location TBD; will be updated ASAP.
Music rehearsal: Sunday, February 16th, 2025. 6 PM – 9 PM. Location TBD; will be updated ASAP.
Full run through: Sunday, February 23rd, 2025. 6 PM – 9 PM. Location TBD; will be updated ASAP.
Performance: February 27th, 2025. Actors called at 7:30 PM, show begins at 8:30 PM. Red Light Cafe in Atlanta.
Audition Requirements:
Prepare a song in the style of She Loves Me or submit an up-to-date musical theatre reel.
Compensation:
Acting Under the Influence operates on a tip and donation basis. All performers will receive a share of any profits generated from the show.
