Auditions coming up in Pharr, Texas for Madeleine L’Engle’s, A Wrinkle in Time.
Pharr Community Theater, a nonprofit organization, is holding auditions this weekend for its spring production of A Wrinkle in Time, adapted by Morgan Gould from Madeleine L’Engle’s cherished novel.
Directed by Dalia Bouchee, this timeless tale follows Meg Murry as she journeys across dimensions to rescue her father, who has disappeared into the enigmatic tesseract realm. Joined by her prodigious brother Charles Wallace and their friend Calvin, Meg receives guidance from the celestial Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. Together, they face the growing darkness embodied by the sinister Red, embarking on a courageous battle between light and shadow.
The theater is casting a variety of volunteer roles, including:
- Three young female roles (ages 12–17)
- Six young male roles (ages 8–17)
- Five adult female roles (ages 20–50)
- Five adult male roles (ages 20–40)
Auditions will be held on a first-come, first-served basis at 213 W. Newcombe Ave., Pharr, on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sides from the script will be provided during auditions.

Details:
The first read-through for selected actors is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 26. Rehearsals will run Monday through Friday, 7–9:30 p.m., leading up to opening night on April 16. Younger cast members will be dismissed by 8:30 p.m. Rehearsals will include breaks for Spring Break and Easter.
In addition to acting roles, paid technical positions are available in areas such as stage management. Those interested in technical roles are encouraged to submit resumes to dalliabouchee@gmail.com for further details.
