Join the Virginia Renaissance Faire as a Volunteer Performer!

The Faire is seeking enthusiastic volunteer performers to portray villagers, nobles of Queen Elizabeth I’s court, and members of the town militia. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for history, theater, and engaging with audiences.

Step back in time and become part of the magic at the Virginia Renaissance Faire, where history comes to life through interactive entertainment. Produced by Out of the Woodwork Productions, a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization, the Faire offers a unique opportunity to engage audiences with historical reenactments, period performances, and immersive storytelling. According to the casting info, there are some requirements:

Volunteer cast members for the Virginia Renaissance Faire must commit to a five-weekend rehearsal process (10 days total), with sessions held Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 3 PM. Rehearsals include both performance practice and stage setup.

Cast members are expected to attend most rehearsals and show dates, provide their own period-appropriate costumes (approved by the Faire’s costume department), and arrange their own transportation to Lake Anna Winery in Spotsylvania, VA. While costuming resources are available, volunteers must purchase or create their own attire.

Participants must be 16 or older to join without a guardian. Younger volunteers may be considered if a guardian is present and actively volunteering in the same area.
